Martin Jennings,

Department of Defence


Martin Jennings has 35 years experience as an Occupational Hygienist. He has previously  worked with the (UK) Ministry of Defence at the Army Personnel Research Establishment (APRE) where he first developed an interest in the effects of light in 1977-78, and the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment (AWRE). In Australia, he has worked in the chemical industry, with WorkSafe WA and as a occupational hygiene consultant.

Martin has a M.Sc. in Occupational Hygiene from London University, and a Master’s degree in Administration from Griffith University, Brisbane.   He is a past-President of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH) and is a Fellow of the Institute. He is a Certified Occupational Hygienist (COH) and is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) with the American Board of Industrial Hygiene.

Since joining the Department of Defence in September 2006, Martin has been working on developing the occupational medicine and occupational hygiene capability within Defence.
