Juan Ramos-Bonilla,

Universidad de los Andes


Dr. Ramos-Bonilla is a Civil Engineer (Universidad de los Andes, 1992), with a Master of Environmental Management (Duke University, 2000) and a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins Public School of Public Health (Johns Hopkins University, 2009). Dr. Ramos-Bonilla has several peer-reviewed publications on the occupational risks resulting from the use of asbestos containing products, specially among brake mechanics. He also has studies analyzing the presence of lead in paint of toys, and the presence of chlorine pesticides in breast milk samples. Dr. Ramos-Bonilla is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Universidad de los Andes, in Bogotá, Colombia. He is an active member of the International Society of Exposure Sciences, and the International Society of Environmental Epidemiology. In the latter, he is part of the Ethics and Philosophy Committee.
