Jackie Morton,

HSL

Biography

Jackie Morton is an analytical chemist working as a principal scientist in HSL’s Biological Monitoring team.  She has wide experience and expertise in the biological monitoring of inorganic elements this includes skills in: the use of specialist analytical techniques and instrumentation such as ICP-MS and LC-ICP-MS, method development; toxicology and undertaking and leading research projects in this field.  As a principal scientist Jackie has responsibility for organising the day-to-day running of the Biological Monitoring Metals laboratory.  She is a Chartered Chemist and Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry.  Jackie is well involved with metals bioanalysis in the UK and is a member of several committees including the UK NEQAS steering committee for clinical chemistry (quality assurance), the Supra-Regional Assay Service for Trace Element Laboratories and the Royal Society of Chemistry Atomic Spectroscopy Group (including on the organising committee for its biennial conference (BNASS)).
