Ian Laird,

Massey University

Biography

Associate Professor Ian Laird is in the School of Public Health, Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand. His qualifications include a BSc (Hons) and MSc in Occupational Hygiene from the University of London, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a Ph D in Physiology. Ian leads the OHS programme at Massey University and was until recently the principal investigator for a major research project undertaken in New Zealand on the Prevention of NIHL. He is a founding member of the NZ Occupational Hygiene Society and has considerable experience as a consultant to NZ industry, with particular interests in health hazard exposure assessment, intervention effectiveness research and OHS in small businesses. Ian is a Fulbright Fellow which was undertaken at the Harvard School of Public Health.
